Our second stop was in Hilo, on the Big Island. Again we rented a car and started exploring. We took the scenic route along the coast and discovered some beautiful overlooks.
Akaka Falls
Our first stop was Akaka Falls. It had started raining, but that didn't stop us. It just made all the plants, flowers and waterfall more vibrant.
Bundling up so we wouldn't get as wet and cold.
Laupahoehoe Point Park
One of our favorite places we found in Hilo was Laupahoehoe Point Park. I had seen a picture of it and knew I wanted to go there. It took a little while to find it, but well worth the many U-turns. It was absolutely breathtaking! I could have spent the whole day there just watching the waves hit the rocks.
A little down time after a long day in Hilo.
